Connected Golf Swing Creates Longer Drives
If you want an easy way to achieve longer drives full of power, you want a CONNECTED golf swing. What do I mean by connected? I mean combining the motion of your bigger muscles and smaller muscles to create what I term is the power triangle. This triangle between the hands, arms, shoulders and body is a very powerful triangle and one that you will see most touring pros use throughout their golf swings.
The biggest mistake most amateur golfers make is swinging with the hands and arms in a disconnected manner that is very weak and creates no clubhead speed or power at impact. The disbelief is that by swinging harder with your small muscles, you’ll hit it farther. It ain’t so! It’s actually the opposite.
Swing easier but with your power triangle and core, and one last, very important element for maximum clubhead speed, is the hinging and unhinging of both your elbows and wrists. Studies show the 11% of your speed comes from the unhinging of your elbows, and 76% from your wrists. That’s pretty amazing isn’t it!
So…to maximize your power and distance combine the motion of your power triangle with your big muscles, and unhinge those wrists and elbows!
